Bad Ujoint or Hub?

My truck drives good if its going straight. When I turn the drivers side wheel wobbles bad and knocks, it feels like it's going to come off. Otherwise no problems. Does this sound like a bad u-joint? or something else? I'll jack it up today and see if the bearing is loose. Thanks

If it is side to side it is bearings, if it is up and down it is ball joints or still could be bearings you will have to watch to see where the play comes from, if it is u-joint you can usually reach your finger in and wiggle the shafts or jiggle the joint hope this helps .

Jack up the front that makes noise. Grab the top and bottom of the tire, you will know if its a hub. When mine went out the tire would move almost 2". It scared the heck out of me!!
When u-joints go its more of a clicking noise when turning.

I'm a little late on replying but the problem was the u-joint binding up. New u-joint and all is well except its pulling to the right real hard now. That looks like a bad tie rod. I'm on it.
