Axle oil

Hey guys
I am changing the oil in my axles! What brand and what weight would you guys put in the front and rear axles! I dont want to run any junk stuff!! The truck is a 96 12 valve 4xd with a 177k on it!
Thanks for your help!

I put 75w90 synthetic in my rear axle. I think it was Castrol, but I don't think the brand matters a whole lot, as long as you don't go with some super-cheap department store brand. I don't think I'd bother with anything heavier, like 75w140, unless I was constantly towing super heavy, in real hot climates.
As far as the front axle goes, I don't think synthetic has as much of a benefit there unless you see some real cold weather. The synthetic can help the CAD engage faster in the cold, according to the bulletin.

Royal Purple 75w90 synthetic every 100k miles.
Make sure to fill to Dana's specs, 3/4" below the bottom of the fill plug in front, 1/2" below in the rear.
Filling to the bottom of the hole guarantees a leak in your future.
