Which Auto Trans? 4L80E or 46RH
Looking into building a 12valve Toyota FJ80 Landcruiser for expedition, camping, and light towing use and I am trying to decide on which auto transmission to use a 4l80e or a 46rh. First of all I am going to be using a NP203/205 doubler transfer case and 1ton axles which I have and the second thing is the 203/205 is all 32 spline gm stuff so If I go with a 46rh I will have to find a dodge np203 tcase and possibly have the intermediate shaft resplined to 32 spline or custom built depending on if its big enough all while probally downgrading the strength of the case and if I go with the 4l80e the tcase stuff will bolt right up, but I will have to buy and engine to trans adapter. So which trans is going to hold up to the most abuse without being built to the hilt? The truck is going to be a jumble of all different manufactures so I am not brand loyal and don't really want a brand loyal opinion (Cummin's isn't dodge so).
