Fan Hub Bearing
I've got 388,xxx miles on my truck and in replacing my water pump and alternator last week I happened to spin the fan hub by hand after taking off the serp belt. The fan hub bearing felt really smooth and silent. But after 388,xxx miles I think I'll retire it. I have already bought an NSK made-in-U.S.A. replacement bearing. Got it on ebay for $30. Beats paying $189 for one from Cummins or Chrysler.
But I have to hand it to the OEM... producing a bearing that has lasted almost 400,000 miles is First Rate Manufacturing. Just another reason to love the Dodge/Cummins.

Japanese bearings are many times better than their US equiv. Hate to say it but true. Another hard to believe one is Israel bearings.
My luck though, the new bearing takes a dump after 100 miles while the 388K bearing mocks me.

Under what name or names, are the Israel bearings sold under? King? or something like that?

Been a few years since I was on the line replacing bearings, for all I know they could have decided it was too expensive to produce them there like they did this country.
