I have read over the past posts concerning this subject but never saw a COMPLETE list compiled of what will have to be changed.

OK....I have a wrecked 94' CTD 4x4 auto that only has 51,000 miles on the clock....I am looking at a 96' V10 4x4 5spd. and I am considering the cummins swap.

The wrecked truck has everything minus the intercooler and radiator for the ctd.

The V10 is a 5 speed which I would definetly want to keep.

My question is what will I need to do the swap from the ctd and will the 5 speed work minus the flywheel?

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I am looking at a cost of less than $4000 up front for both vehicles plus whatever parts I will have to buy.

I would hope to end up with a 96' ctd 3500 dually 4x4 extended cab 5 speed truck with 179k on the truck and trans and 51k on the ctd. The truck is solid with new tires and only some small paint peeling issues.

What do you think????????

 

it should bolt right up, i'm not sure about the bell housing though. you might as well address the 5th gear nut while you have the tranny out

 

the v10 and ctd share some stuff like trans and radiator also motor mounts it would be a easy swap jmo
