Fleet Guard oil filter recommendation?

Which oil filter should I use for my 1997 12 valve Cummins: LF16035 or LF3894? I USE DELO 400 CHEVRON oil.

I like the LF16035 because it's fluted on the bottom and I can get to it with a cap wrench/socket - much easier for me than trying to work a strap or band-style wrench in there. I believe all other critical specs are the same between the two - if I'm wrong, someone please chime in and enlighten.

I use the 3894. 12v or 24v. The flutes don’t help me and the 3894 is cheaper.

For me, whichever is cheaper.

Yep, as others have said, either is a stratopore and the only difference is the fluting, buy whichever is on sale.

As an added point, the Cummins counter guy remarked to me the issues they were finding with cheap oil filters coming apart and clogging oil passages. The Fleetguard Stratapore is the way to go. I suppose the Napa Gold (Wix) is OK, but the Stratapore filter media is better.

I buy my oil and fuel filters from Genos Garage. This is the URL for oil filters.

LF16035 and LF3894are both $13.95 plus a little for shipping. Overall pretty decent price and delivery is generally pretty quick too. Personally I like the LF16035 too.

My local Acklands-Grainder parts store of closing down ... 50% off a lot of stuff ... I was in there today and noticed a wall full of Baldwin filters ... is there any difference in Baldwin and Fleetgard ? Anyone have part numbers for oil filter and fuel filter if they are good filters?

I have read the same thing about the Fleetguard Lf 3894 and LF 16035 being the same except for the can. I called Fleetguard and they told me they are the same. I think they are excellent filters. What the Donaldson DBL 7349? I have read it is also an excellent filter and 100% synthetic? I is hard to find a dealer and it costs more then the Fleetguard. Just curious about comments on this filter? What about the Royal Purple filter? Any comments?

The simple solution for me is the 3894 from Geno’s. I’m not adverse to Napa Gold, Wix or Baldwin in my other rides, but the Cummins gets a Stratapore 3894. Period. End.
