Man I like the color of you're truck alot. Don't worry about those glow plugs, there overated anyway . Wonder why the engine was changed? It's cool that you have the 215 pump though.

Truck was painted for $300.00 at Macco..... Almost a perfect match to the orignal color. Thanks for the compliments.

Heck west coast,I'd just have them put it all back in a box and do it yourself, too many different storys there,I just had a melted #6 replaced and they bent me over the counter for $3700 and $2200 or so was for pulling the engine...I'd have done it myself if they had not lied Lier=bad deal. IMHO

truck is home

Truck is running worse than it was when I dropped it off. Bad shake at any speed. When I dropped truck of truck had a rough idle. Now it has a rough idle and bad shake.

This is after rear of Injection Pump was rebuilt, new push rod tubes and head gasket and timing set at stock for now.

I'm am beyond angry

Oil leaking from all of the valve cover gaskets. Puddle of oil under my truck when I got home...

This list goes on........

I would take it to a different shop , or fix it right yourself , only after documenting with pictures and video exactly how bad it is AFTER it was "fixed" this documentation is what wins court cases and or gets your truck fixed for free.

Did i read that you for sure have a 215 pump? your engine could have been replaced with one from a 96 auto , which would still be 180.

P.S. I sure wish you were located alot closer to me , i would love to get my hands dirty and help you out.

Nevada Bureau of automotive repairs. Sounds like the next option sorry to say.

If you have already spent $2700.00 and the problem not only presists but is worse then they did not really "fix" anything did they?

Sorry for your troubles bud! But it will get better!!

I was going to recommend a lawyer, much as I hate to advise that to anyone. It sounds like this shop owes you $2700.

another finding

When I took my truck to the shop I took my digital temp gun and read all the temps on the exhaust manifold. All where from 200 -230. The hottest ones where in the center. Now from the firewall out:

158
180
260
265
258
270

Big change on temps now???

Truck runs much worse now then previous. I just took truck to the car wash down the street. I re tightened the valve covers and steam cleaned them. No leaks as of yet....

I am going to have the timing checked again tomorrow..... Truck runs like timing is retarted

another find

I hear what sounds to be boost when I accelerate? I never heard this before I recieved my truck? My truck is extemely slugish. How does boost effect driveability? And what would make the swoosh sound when I get the rpms up?

Thanks...

Man I hate that this turned out this way for you. Did you notice the problems when you picked the truck up?

truck

Kemble I got the oil leak fixed my self. The boost noise (swoosh) I did not notice until I was on the highway. I definately have a boost line disconnected or other boost issue. Truck has lost tons of power. Very rough, jerky when I take off. And the white smoke and rough idle I have has to be timing related. Shop swears it is at 13. That was my other issue. I told them 15.5. Watch it be 11....

Shop wants to make the truck right. I need some another certified Cummins shop to make truck right at the cost of the original shop.....

I am headed back to shop tomorrow for timing bump....

Is there anyway that a bad head gasket could have been masking a bad/dead cylinder. And now that I have a good head gasket the bad/dead cylinder is really apparent??

Thanks to everyone for the help and support. With out this site I would really be in trouble.........

It could've been worse . I would have the next shop check everything possible if the original shop is going to pay. I would want everything that shop touched to be checked by an independant party.

Seems like the temp being cold on just a few cylinders would mean they were getting reduced amounts of fuel. But i'm not real sure about that.
