Air in tranny fluid
Noticed the tranny shifting a little squirly this morning. I just passed the "weak" shifting to it being 10* this morning. Well, I went out again this afternoon and felt the same thing. I decided to check the fluid level. With the tranny warm and in neutral, the level is perfect. However, there are bubbles in the fluid.
So, my point: what causes this and how can I get the air out?

If the level indicates perfect but the fluid is foamy...I would say it is probably low on fluid which causes the fluid to foam up and increase in volume making it only appear to be at the correct level.

Hi Daniel:
Either low fluid or overfilled fluid will cause the bubbles. Did you ever lower the level from the TC install last August?
george

If your doing a fluid change after you drop the pan loosen the Valve Body bolts this will drain more fluid out also then retorque the valve body bolts again before reinstalling the pan

Just a thought. While you have your pan off, get 3/8" ball valve fitting at lowes or Home Depot, plumbing dept, brass, ball ****. Drill the appropiate hole and put in a drain. I sealed mine with epoxy. Then next time you need to dropp the pan you can miss all the fun of fluid everywhere. Pan on a 4x4 holds 3 qt. Thats a lot of red juice all over you and the driveway :'(.

Just a thought
