I getting ready to pull the bed off my 1995 4x4 extended cab 180k miles. I need to fix the sending unit and I want to replace the the fuel lines and touch up some surface rust. My questions are, should I replace the clutch, I have no issues right now, just thinking while I have easy access does it make sense at 180k miles?

Also, Advanced Auto brand is "Perfection Clutch Set" and its on sale for $219 is it a reliable brand and worth the $$.

I do a lot of road driving 98%, occasional hauling.

TIA

If it isn't slipping then why replace it? A $219 clutch set won't last as long as whatever life is left in the one you have now. I learned from experience that a cheap clutch costs more in the long run than a quality clutch like South Bend. Two lifetime warranty clutch discs from Auto Zone and a "heavy duty" clutch from Blumenthals in OK City cost me labor charges and down time.

We install Luke clutches in almost everything. Have never had a problem with one. They have stock replacements and heavy duty sets. You can check them out at, http://catalog.schaeffler-aftermarket.us/

Removing the bed doesn't make it any easier to replace the clutch.
May as well wait till you really need one.
