Adding an Airdog ii 150 gph to a '96 12V P pump?

Help please! I'm having possible lift pump problems with occasional hard start due to a minor air or fuel leak. A good friend has a used Airdog II setup he wants to give me cheap and help mount. What I saw was just a pump/bracket and hoses. No sump parts that I know of. Can someone point me in a direction to plumb it with some links? I am thinking I just want to use it to supplement and keep positive pressure to the stock lift pump. Is that the correct or best way? Or do I bypass the stock pump? Do I have to change the sump setup? I'm just trying to work around occasional hard start after truck sits where it seems to have gotten some air in somewhere only occasionally.
