98 trans

My dad had a transmission built for his 98. They installed a hughes converter. The coverter seems to be sliping. It is a Hughes "Billet Generation" 47RE Torque Converter. We are thinking he has around 800 lbs of torque. Is this converter capable of handling that much power.

Yea! it can handle. Suggestion! Do not STALL engine above 1600 RPM without input shaft (or rear wheels) turning.
