98 starting problems
When you energize the solinoid [turning the key to start] You are doing 2 things. One the coil in the solinoid is pulling the bendix gear into the ring gear. Two the contacts at the back of the starter solinoid close allowing the high amp draw from the battery's to spin the starter motor. And there in is the problem with rebuilt low cost starters. The contacts used in them are simply not up to the task of starting a diesel. The solution buy a new starter made to start a diesel [NAPA's New starter has worked for me in the past] Or buy a set of heavy duty aftermarket contact's for your starter. I have seen them posted in here. Do a search in here for heavy duty contacts. Or just keep replacing them. A lot of the part's stores offer lifetime free replacement, But what is your time worth to keep replacing them all the time. The time spent replacing will pay for a new one in a hurry.
well put a new starter in from napa and still same thing, could it be something to do with the clutch pedal position sensor? because if you keep tryin and letting the clutch out and pushing harder hes starting to think its starting more often
well by passed the clutch pedal sensor and it seemed good for 2 days then the click and no start is back then wait a few seconds and try again and it will fire up any ideas?
