Unfortunately these days it's very common to get one bad brand new part after another.
Guess the Chinese haven't mastered electrical stuff yet.
Try a new starter.

Matt, what auto parts store are you getting them from?

I buy all my electrical stuff from Napa, and get the best grade.......trust me, it is worth it.

When you energize the solinoid [turning the key to start] You are doing 2 things. One the coil in the solinoid is pulling the bendix gear into the ring gear. Two the contacts at the back of the starter solinoid close allowing the high amp draw from the battery's to spin the starter motor. And there in is the problem with rebuilt low cost starters. The contacts used in them are simply not up to the task of starting a diesel. The solution buy a new starter made to start a diesel [NAPA's New starter has worked for me in the past] Or buy a set of heavy duty aftermarket contact's for your starter. I have seen them posted in here. Do a search in here for heavy duty contacts. Or just keep replacing them. A lot of the part's stores offer lifetime free replacement, But what is your time worth to keep replacing them all the time. The time spent replacing will pay for a new one in a hurry.

Easy enough to jumper past for a trial. If that is it, replace the switch.
