98 QC 12V 4wd SB, what's it worth?

Hey all,
I'm looking at a 98 QC, 4x4, 12v, shortbed, auto, 160k miles, no gooseneck, has spray in bedliner, tonneau cover, it is also supposed to be real clean, rust free (even though it is from the salt belt), and one owner. No oil leaks (no KDP), shifts smooth, doesn't pull or wander, and no mods. I'm thinking of offering around $13k which is about a couple less than he is asking. Does this sound reasonable or am I low?

Thanks,

if u get it for 13 000$ then i think u got a great deal...id be ready to pay more...i think 15 000$ like u mentioned would be a good deal too good luck!

I paid 13k for mine over a year ago with 175k miles. So thats about right. I dont know if I would pay 15k though.

Mine also had a brand new trans. If the one in that truck hasnt been replaced start saving for that also because thats about when they go.

Im not gonna tell ya what I paid for mine....was way too much.

I think I may have paid a premium too. 18K for a 98 ext. cab 12V, auto, 4x4, with 69K miles.....

It's all in the eye of the beholder!

I have had people pull up along side of me on the freeway when stopped in traffic and give me the "roll down the window" sign. They then ask if I want to sell the truck.

I have also had one of the taillights stolen because it is the sport package.

$15-$16K is not too much, and $18K for a low mileage one is also not too much.

Take care of them boys - they are the rare ones!

Paid 11k for the same truck but with a long bed... Only big issue that needed to be fixed was leaky valve cover gaskets and a bad carrier bearing..

Has disc brake conversion, rebuilt tranny & HD converter as well..

Here in TEXAS those trucks are a dime a dozen. I've seen them sell from $7500.00 up $13500.00, I bought mine in '99 for $15000.00, I guess if I get ready to sell mine I need to take it up north:D Even '02 models down here for $18000.00, fully loaded 4x4's quad cab dually.

They don't advertise? I'm searching nationwide, I don't care if I have to fly down to Texas to pick it up. Actually a friend of mine works at a Dodge ******* in Dallas, I'm trying to get him to find one for me. :D

paid 13500 for mine but with the kdp and a few other issues i have come out in the 16000 ball park

I just ran a carfax on another truck with 55k miles less & $2k more but it was even further north (even though they were selling it down south as a southern truck) when it got in 2 accidents.... This is making the Minnepolis truck I mentioned before even more lucrative as the carfax shows up clean and only one owner.

In case anybody wants a free carfax report go here then click on the 7th one from the top. If you want more than one free carfax just delete the carfax cookies or use a different browser.

Hope it works out for you Jeff....I believe youve been looking for awhile now...

Thanks. A lot more seriously now than before, I sold the Eagle so I have all that money plus a good deal more (and a real income) to put towards my CTD. I'm in no particular hurry still though, I know my MB is a reliable daily driver so as long as I have my truck by this winter everything should be alright, granted everytime I open my email and search online I want to find it but good things take time. :)

Yup....dont take just any one - wait for the one you want. It will be hard to find (especially with lower miles) BUT they are out there.
