97 Cummins 2500 5 speed
My daughter is going to look at a 97 Cummins 2500 4x4. I’ve read on here that they are good trucks. Are there any specific things I should be looking out for? It should have ODB connection right?

It will have an obd2 port, will be mostly irrelevant on a mechanically injected manual trans truck.
They are great trucks, worst problems would be rust on rockers, door bottoms, frame etc. Fuel lines can get brittle from the tank up to the motor. Ask owner about KDP or killer dowel pin and if it has been addressed.
Other than that what you see is what you get generally. If it has been maintained and starts easily when cold, doesn't smoke too much or have excessive blow by, I'd be willing to drive it around.
