95 transmission fittings... where and how....
My 95 ram with auto has steel tube cooler lines for the trans. There are plastic inserts around the tube that fit into each fitting at trans and one is leaking badly. Where are these available and how exactly do they come out and re-install? There are lines that go over to passenger side and connect up under the turbo, and there is a "drain back" valve there. Is this something that is needed or can I cut lines and by-pass that part of the fluid path? I am adding an additional cooler and wondered if anyone has ommitted this in their system. It looks like it would be difficult to remove lines there or remove tank to clean out all lines when I re-build trans and install new converter. I dont want any old shavings or particles to get near new stuff.
The plastic couplings are no longer available and have been replaced by metal ones.

You're lucky you made it this long and that you didn't loose all the ATF at once as many have and trash the tranny. You really should replace all the plastic fittings now.
Some people have replaced all the tranny lines with 1/2" hydralic hose with much success and a bit cheaper

I just finished replacing all of my transmission cooler lines literally about 6 hours ago. I bought all of the items in the parts list that Infidel posted above from a local chrysler dealer. It was right around $400 for the 3 pre-bent metal tubes, 2 rubber hoses with crimped on fittings, and the 4 connector pieces.
It didnt take too long to do and it was more of a pain trying to move the pre-bent pieces in and out and around the obstructions. I also did my trans fluid change at the same time. So after it was empty i remove the cooler lines, then put the new lines in, then filled it back up.
