#6 plate

Did anyone use a #6 plate with a stock trans? DTT said it will be ok (not WOT all the time).
Want to put #6 with TC only, or do I need a VB to.

I ran a #6 torque plate for a year with no tranny mods.....until my tranny cooler line came off while on the highway and toasted my tranny.....then I upgraded my tranny

My truck has had a #5(hotter than a 6) in it since before I had it 2 years ago. TC slips some, but its held well so far. If you get a better TC you wont have any problems at all.

I have a 5 now and with a 16k load it will shuter in lock up and matted it goes right to 2400 on tach. I had a local trans place install some valve body upgrade and it stopped the shuttering in lock up but the high stall sucked so I put in a TCI tc and all is good.

If your tranny is still stock, and if you want to put in a #6, slide it back some from stock. My stock tranny could just barely hold up to stock power, let alone the #10 by itself.
