thanks infidel, Adding a second spring should do the trick. No more can of Coke sitting between the shifter and the boot

I put a little torque in it.

(I grabbed the shifter and pulled it pretty hard to the left)

Noise has been gone for 6 years.

I used an elastic hair tie between the shifter and a screw under the dash for many years before adding a spring.
It was even the right color to match the dash.
Only problem was my daughter kept asking when she could have her hair tie back.

Thank you infidel, your a lifesaver! Searched off and on for the last year to try and find that solution. That vibration drives me nuts along with the clunking of my worn out calipers that have no more room for tightening.

Meant caliper mounts, the cast iron mounts have two bigger sized nuts on inside of wheels on the front end. The mounts wear down and need resurfacing. I can't tighten those two nuts anymore, ran out of threads on bolts.

My 95 has made noise since new. I use a rubber bungee on the linkage to the frame.
