4x4 operating correctly?
Just checking to see if the operation of the 4x4 is working correctly. The other day I was on a slight incline, snow covered road, 4x4 engaged for awhile, when we had to stop. When starting again the rear wheels started to
spin, I have a LSD. My understanding is when the transfer case is engaged, both the front and the rear drive axles will rotate at the same speed, so why wouldn't a front tire spin at the same time as a rear? I rolled back a few feet and had no more problems. Does this sound like a normal operation, or should I check something out? Thanks, Ken

I was told that none of the front tires were spinning when the rear one was spinning. Your question makes me think that the drive lines should be locked together and turning at the same speed, so I should have had at least one front tire spinning at the same time as one of the rear tires. Does that sound like the way it should work?

I figure that with 4x4 both ends should have the same tire speed (not for sure).
If I were you, I'd take off the rear drive shaft, put in 4H and see if it moves (this is what I'd do with my old CJ) If it moves, then you shouldn't be having any problems, if not, then you got a problem. You're vacuum might not be working, which you'll be able to see whether its your T-case or something else with the above test

So you're saying when you started trying to go again the rear wheels spun and the truck did not move? If the truck moved at all while the rears were spinning that's normal- if it did not move with the rear wheels spinning and the front NOT spinning the front axle was not engaged.
