370's and 180 pump?
Got some 370's for Christmas (thanks Mom & Dad) and I am wondering if it will be safe to put these in with a 180 pump. I've read that 191DV's maybe needed, but I have no extra money to spend now. I don't want to put in and have problems, so I need some input from you guys.

Re:370's and 180 pump?
The 370's will work with the 180 pump ..... however .... for some reason in some engines .... you can get a bit of a stumble around 1100-1200 rpm ... doesn't happen in all. You should have 181 del valves in that pump. Best I can tell you is put them in .... and if you experience a stumble ... then put the 191's in .....

Keith

BGDUMMY:

My truck is almost identical to yours!! I installed
the 370's in mine with no problems whatsoever!!
Initially, I did not have the 191's in my P7100 pump
and never had the "stumble" that Keith has mentioned.
I later had the 191's installed and can say they did
help the "low end/midrange" response!

You will love the 370's!!!! ;D

--------
John_P

Re:370's and 180 pump?
180 pump has 181's, 191's is a kick in the pants, 40 CC's worth or 40 HP.

Jim

Re:370's and 180 pump?
With a #4 plate .050 back from stock, 191's and 370's with a stock 35 with a 16 housing I could go from 600-1500 in 3 seconds....does that answer your question.

Jim

Re:370's and 180 pump?
Hey Jim- How many seconds does it take to go from 600 to 1500 now that you have compound turbos?

Re:370's and 180 pump?
If I'm in real bad air I can get to 1500 by the time it's out of gear but most of the time 1300-1400 is max. H.P is at 440 as of today on a dynojet...I thought it would at least get 450...sick *** pump.

Jim

Re:370's and 180 pump?
Sorry about having to put that sensored comment in there, I was a little more than displeased with the dyno run but it was just too quick of a run, 1700-3200 RPM/ OD locked in 3 seconds is quick for me. I need to get the pump to a stand and get all the qwerks out of it and get it turned up, I already know there is an issue there.

Jim

Re:370's and 180 pump?
So Jim, I guess you'll be the guy running around town with the hood off now to get some "good" air.

Re:370's and 180 pump?
Jim those really are not bad #'s considering where your pump is! There are a lot of tricks to get the fuel out of it! What was the tq?

J.R.

So Jim, I guess you'll be the guy running around town with the hood off now to get some "good" air.

If the air here at 1300 ft is at 29.65 baro and humidity is a 60% that is bad air to me, but it is at 30.15 and 30% that is good air and you can see the difference on the EGT guage, I would never pull my hood off except to paint it.. ;D

J.R. it went up as fast as the turbo's spool, you wouldn't believe it, I called today and the price list is in work. I got to watch a video of the pulls, all the smoke is gone at boost.

Jim
