I have 290k and no problem, check under each door look for rust along the door seam there. Consider it a work truck and you'll be fine.

Check Kbb, trade-in in "fair" condition is about $5500

are you guys talking about miles or kms? cause 340 000 miles is about
550 000kms...thats a hefty number whn u dont know how the truck has been maintained....id knock the price down to about 4000$....if the truck was a powerrtoke with that many miles id say its on its last breath

340,000 MILES, yup, ill see the truck tommorow, if its not showing good condition as in kept up im walkin,

Also note, ive never owned a vehicle with over 100,000 miles, and if this was a gasser or a Ferd, i wouldnt be touching it. if she shows good condition and after i do a "test" drive and everything feels alright ill work a deal

No biggy though

Ive recently talked myself into having nothing but 97 -98 truck, 12 v all the way, so now thats what im keeping my eyes open for!
hopefully finding something under 150,000 miles.

will post up when i find that thing I want!

Dude, I aint ever had nuthin UNDER 100,000. You got, mostly, a brand new truck. Why you wanna mess around with some ol raggedy azz ole ride like that. And if you want a project, then buy that old heap you looked at......it sounded like a heck of a PROJECT I'm just ribbin ya a little. Seriously, around here anyway, those old trucks(even w/very high miles) are bringing premium prices. They dont make them anymore and people are hanging on to them or sucking them up as fast as they go for sale.

Since you've already got a truck, I would hold out for exactly what you want. Used Cummins go for blue book at least. If someone is selling for less than book, there probably not all there, like I was when I sold my 99 I bought my 97 for $12500, the exact same that I sold the 99 for. I think prices actually went up in the 6 months betweeen my selling and buying. i would say make sure it is clean, and the miles (within reason) don't really matter.

I own two maintain three 2nd gen trucks 448K, 363K and 178K miles on them two of the three haul OTR daily with 14 -19K wind hog loads behind them. other than routine maintenance I've only had to overhaul one (the 448K) after +/- 140K of towing with it turned up over 400HP. Miles don't mean much to the Cummins motor. Trans are a whole story in themselves.
