3/4 to 1ton rear
3/4 to 1ton rear
I am thinking of turning my 3/4 ton into a 1 ton and putting a dump bed on it.
It is the truck in the signature.
I know I will have to get some hub adaptors for the front.
I would like to know what the difference in the rear ends are. I know I have a dana 70 and I would need a dana 80, but I just rebuilt the entire rear brake assemblys and was hoping to keep them. Will they work on a dana 80 rear? I assume I will have to add a leaf or two to the spring pack as well? Has anyone else done this with a dump bed?
What type of PTO would I need to get to run the hydraulics?
It will probably get expensive, I am thinking.
Seems I am always needing a dump truck for something. I know I should just go buy one already set up but I have done lots of work to this truck and I know what I have. I really don't want a truck that someone else had cobbled together and end up with their problems.
My truck is no longer my daily driver.
Thanks.

The truck is currently licensed for 11,500 GVW. I don't know about other states, but you can legally license your truck up in weight class. I increased the licensed weight class when I was pulling a log trailer on a regular basis.
I had a small sawmill at the time.
