2wd to 4wd trans.

Ok, I have a 47RH out of a '94 Dodge CTD 2wd and would like to use it in my swap/chevy repower project which is a 4x4 and I would like to keep it that way. Is there some sort of adapter I can use to make this a 4wd trans? Also would I be able to keep the transfer case thats in the Chevy now? I believe its a NP241.

I was thinking it may just be easiest to get a 4wd 47RH with the dodge transfer case already on it.... Any input is appreciated. Thanks

I'm not sure if the NP241 you have would bolt up or not. But to convert your 47RH to 4 wheel drive you need to find a 4 wheel drive overdrive section to swap with the 2 wheel drive one you have now.

What kind of chevy is it? You could look into a divorced t-case and run the 2wd tranny. If its a driver drop front end (IFS), you could use a 205 out of a 73-77 Ford F-250.

Yeah its a '95 with the IFS and a driver drop front end. I have fondled the idea of a divorced t-case and it doesnt really seem like to hard of an object to overcome. I haven't done too much research on it yet but what are the pro's and con's of a divorced t-case? the only cons I would think would just be that you have to lengthen the front driveshaft and shorten the rear one, along with lengthening your shifter cables and speed sensor wires. The main reason I would like to keep the chevy t-case is to retain my speedo sensor.
