2nd Head gasket in 26 hours :(

Black Cloud, Did you retorq the studs ? If so did you loosen the nuts then retorq. Loosen one at a time, retorq do this thru the hole sequence. If you don't loosen the nuts they seem to stick even with ARP Lube, giving you a false torque reading. You need to look at the gasket real good in the area it failed to see if it was clamped properly. The last HG I did on my truck I had to retorq about 4 times before the nuts quit turning. When I say 4 times 1st you run the engine at a little above idle to get engine to temp, then let it cool maybe 6-7 hours then retorq. Then put a couple hundred miles on it and retorq again, if the nuts still turn run the truck a week or so then do it again, until the nuts move about 1/8 of a turn then your good. Timing won't blow the gasket where yours was blown, I don't think it was clamped tight. Just my .02 Thanks Steve B
