Why not just replace the head gasket and drive it?

Wiring up sensors for your guage cluster may throw you a few curves. You may have to buy some 98 12v sensors so they will fit a 12v and plug into 24v harness. I could be wrong thou.

I'm in the process of putting a rebuilt 98 12v in a 2000 24v 3500 4x4. Had to move prefilter/heater so I could use 24v oil pressure sender. 12v oil press sender is 2 prong. 24v is 3 and the threads are different. 24v temp sender isn't the same and placed in a different location. The connectors seem to be the same but threads are different. I'm still working out the tach. My block has the hole for crank sender but crank is not machined for tone wheel.

I may not have a clue what I'm doing as this is my first conversion.

My 24v is a 2000, 98 maybe different.

Let us know how it goes if you decide to do it.
