1998 12v short bed 5speed 4x4 quad
hi ya'll been visting this site for some time, but finally signed up today. first time post. i was wondering if a 98 short bed 5 speed 12v 4x4 quad was worth $13,500? it is all stock, still has the factory exaust. very minor rust on door corners. with 142,000 miles,an old man owned it and the family want's to sell. thanks for the help.
Might want to check to see if it's a 53 block. Although no case of a cracked 53 block has been reported on a 12v, might still be good to know. The 24v's are the ones that have cracked before.

That's about it. The truck you're getting is a very sought after truck.

I just purchased the same truck a couple months ago and paid the same amount for it and it has 80,000 on it and no rust. I was told that the truck was a diamond in the rough. Do to it is the last year of the 12v, very little electronics and is the newer interior and the rear doors and also is a 5 speed. I would have to say it is a pretty desirable truck. I would pay that much for it.
Oh I just remembered. All the 5 speeds might lose the nut that holds 5th gear in place due to the high torque these engines put out. If it falls of, you'll just lose 5th gear, no tranny damage done. But you'll have to open the tranny and put it back on (hopefully better). I'd recommend not being to hard on it below 1700 rpms while you're in 5th gear.

Seems high to me. i've had my truck 96 3500 ext 4x4 for sale for $12k for 3 months. It has 144k miles. NO TAKERS. my 97 3/4 4x4 went for $7500 Blue book said it was worth $9500 yeah right.
I guess there's always a buyer for everything though. good luck

You sold that '97 for a darn good price. Was it a long bed, ext cab?
The manuals in these trucks are pretty solid. Just have to take care of that 5th gear nut. Sorry, couldn't tell you on the clutch as I have never looked into them.
