1992 cummins 12v
when i start out in 2nd and i dont hold the shifter down it pops out of gear and in 5th if i slow down then press on the fuel it pops out of gear what causes this?

Im no expert on the getrag 360 but i will venture to say its worn shift forks.

You will also get many more replies if you put this in the 1st gen section.

Shift fork or synchro, is the shift lever sloppy or does it engage the gear with a solid snick?

solid while shifting in gear but after its in gear its loose

shifting forks, 5th popout is also super common in transverse axle nissan and infinity cars.
