It's my understanding that the top-line NAPA filters are made by Wix. I have run Wix fuel filters on my truck since I bought it almost 10 years ago - no problems. If you look up the specs on the Wix site, I believe they are an excellent cellulose filter. I'd be a nickel all those people who said they've been stranded by NAPA filters had some other problem at the root - maybe old fuel that had stuff growing in it???

NOTE: I have no affiliation with Wix - I'm just saying that in my experience they are good filters. I would run a Wix/Napa Gold long before I'd run an Autozone filter, unless the Autozone had equal/better filtering specs (and I've never noticed them published anywhere)

I agree with texasprd about running Wix/Napa filters, when not running a Fleetguard.

Don't worry, OP, ANY cheap new filter is better than a clogged old one, and the first step in diagnosing fuel starvation.
