16cm housing?

Alright, I searched and found some information, but not exactly an answer.
The truck in my sig is my DD and tow rig.
Right now, I have good response, and a buttload of power up to 2800rpm...then the EGT spikes and power drops off instantly.

I am toying with the idea of either a 35/40 hybrid, or maybe a 40.
In the meantime, what would a 16cm housing do to my torque curve? I have an airaid intake, 4" turbo back exhaust, #11 plate and 370 injectors.

I was also thinking about going to a 10 plate and 3K gov springs, but I'm not sure. [duhhh] I guess I'm addicted to the power [roll]

I tried a 16 on my tow rig for a while, didn't like the slow spool up, went with a 14

A 14 cm housing works very nice with a 35/40 hybrid, too.

Your 370 injectors and plans for a #10 and GSK probably means a 16 cm housing is a better choice. 370's on your bigger pump help with the lag and the bigger housing helps when you get the rpms up.

One of my concerns is that I can peg my 35 psi boost gauge (40 psi at the peg?) as soon as I romp the throttle accelerating in third. 1200° is pretty quickly seen, and EGT hit 1400 on the third dyno run.

After thinking about it, I don't think a 16cm housing will help all that much, seeing as I'm already out of the turbo's map.

I don't plan on more than 400hp, but I would like to clean up the exhaust a bit.

What turbo would be the best bang for the buck? I've been looking at the Dodgezilla with a 14cm housing, as I can find one of those for about $750

I'm also going to have the timing bumped up to around 15°-16° soon.

I am looking into a new turbo[ 4"outlet] along with trans. e-brake ,4" exhaust ,then about your power level , the 1st thing I though after looking at your ? was that I came to looking at same turbo , but in your sig. no timing , go there before more parts , it seems like you've got the ability to flow and fuel but not the timing yet , and then the 3-4gsk also. Thats another thing about these sites when you want to build a truck you've got more than your own to expairament with.

After some more playing, I realized that my EGT numbers are actually lower than I thought. [duhhh]

At 30psi, my EGT is around 750°-800°. With the needle buried, It peaks around 850°-900°.
I don't know why I thought it was higher... Maybe I don't need a new turbo after all?!?!

I'm a bit confused now :(

Timing is next on the list, 15°-16° advanced.

Is your pyro probe before or after the turbo?
Your first temps indicated pre-turbo. Now, when you state 900° that is usually a post turbo temp.

The temps are pre turbo.
The highest I remember seeing temps was about 1200...but that was on a steep grade and I was playing with it.
Then there was the 1400 on the dyno, but that was at 3100 rpm in top gear.

Still confused here.

you saw what mine did.....40 psi & 1500 deg on the dyno.....

With your injecotrs, I'd expect about the same egt & boost as mine, but yer lower.....hmmmm.......must be that #11 plate.
