Its weird how every ctd powered dodge, some same year with same specs get totally different fuel economy. I read about guys getting 25mpg then others only getting 13mpg. My truck on 40s got the same **** fuel economy it gets with 285s now thats some bs..

I don't have big tires but I do have 4:10 gears and I can get 600 miles to a tank but I fill up at 578 miles just for safe measure.

There must be a mistake. 600 miles/35 gallons = 17.14 mpg. ?

I think my stock auto tranny is what's really killing my fuel economy.

I was gettin 19 and now I get 15. I noticed the mileage drop after the implementation of ULSDF. I think that is what is causing my mileage drop. Does adding 2 stroke oil improve mileage? The reason I bought a Dodge Cummins was for the fuel efficiency but this is getting ridiculous. Im getting what my buddies Powerstroke is getting. Both engines stoke but hes got tons more power.

I cant seem to get any more than 13 mpg out of this truck, and it really is getting a little nerve racking.
It is a work truck, it weighs around 11k on a regular basis, and tows about 12-15k on a regular basis.
Sometimes when I hand calculate the mileage, I only get 10mpg.
I have tried backing the fuel plate off, the starwheel off, and even tried howes meaner power cleaner.
I used to average between 16-18, but last tank averaged out to 12.8MPG.
I have done a valve adjustment too.
Where should I go from here?

Rich

26k gcwr and you want better than 13 mpg??
So do I!!!

I lose a mile or two in the winter and I lost a couple miles with the ULSD. Larger tires help if you have a 4.10. iwth my 35's I get about 17 with the ULSD. I hope to gain a little more by going to 37's. 1/2pound more weight but alot more hight to gear me down.

In all seriousness yeah 4.10 rearend, the additive is that power service diesel kleen stuff wether it helps or not I still use it out of habit. 235 tires keeping rpm at 21-2200 I know its only 60mph but why would I want to get to work sooner than i got to. My fuel guage dont work so I fill up around 200 miles this time on sunday I had 111 miles it stoped pumping at 3.8 so I hit it again and it stoped at 4.18 gallons.
