12 valve oil pan removal
Hey guys I've started to replace my oil pan on my 97 ram. Do the through bolts have to be removed from the mounts to lift the engine? It looks to me like there are slots in the mounts to allow raising of the engine without removing the bolts. I've loosened them completely and tried jacking the engine but I'm lifting the suspension and the engine isn't moving. I've tried to remove the bolts but they won't move. I've tried taking varying amounts of weight and tapping the bolts but they seem to be stuck hard.
Also does the tranny mount need to be loosened. It's a manual transmission. Thanks for the help.

I've loosened the transmission mounts, disconnected intercooler and exhaust pipes to get my engine to lift out of the motor mounts. Other members may have done more or less, but this looked to be minimum to me to get the engine high enough to remove the pan.

Thanks for the help. I had one mount sticking in the saddle but I got it to break free.
