1/2 ton springs and spindles
1/2 ton springs and spindles
anyone know if half ton spindles will fit 3/4 ton a frames? i want to lower my truck and i don't want stiff front springs in it as i plan on drage racing it also. and i am not having much luck finding skinny front tires for 16's and i would like lighten it up as much as possible. so i was thinking going to 1/2 ton stuff.
I presume you are talking about a two wheel drive, and the answer is yes. Just be cautious, as the diesel is about 400 lbs heavier than the half ton engine, and the transmission is 180 lbs heavier. That is a lot of dynamic loading for a half ton front end that already has lower ball joint problems on a good day.
this truck will be cut down to a short bed and it is much easier to get 5 lug wheels in the sizes i want. i figure it will be a alot lighter on the frontend when i start removing stuff from the frontend. first on the list is batteries and may be the intercooler. i might go with a smaller radiator as well. project 11:30 is off and running and to get 30mpg and 11 second time slips it has to get lighter.
