Brake controller that does electric over hydraulic?
Are there any ?
A company I might be working for requires one... they say a Tekonsha prodigy is "required" but I didn't think that was compatible? I don't like the idea of an inertia controller (no offense!)...
EDIT: I read that BrakeSmart does work with electric/hydraulic. I assume this will be THE answer as I've heard so many good things about this product anyway.

yea there are ,but there is a delay in the action I do not like....Brake smart really sucks,is so complicated,,too many functions.
There are others some say the delay is dwn to 3/10 of a sec.,,which is better.

Interesting... I understand the delay ona pedulum brake controller but on one that hooks up to your braking system???
I always heard brakesmart was "the best" ?
I definitely can't tolerate a delay... The worst is when you get on the fuel and 2 seconds later the trailer brakes release....

I don't know why you feel the Brake smart is so complicated. That technoligy is not new. They were useing electric over hydraulic years ago. I think brake smart has only perfected it. I've been using mine for months now with O problems & no time delay. My truck is pulling a trailer 90% of the time. IMOH it's the best controller I've used to date.

I have to agree with tankeryanker. The BrakeSmart is not complicated at all and works well with the default settings. It even senses the type of brake system automatically. Best controller I have ever used. Smooth and predictable, it is worth every penny. Even it you have to wait to get one, it is the best of the best.

What about given the options that are available right now?
Which is basically the Jordan, who says not to use it with electric/hydraulic, and Prodigy which says the same thing...
I'm looking to purchase a trailer with dual 10,000 lb axles instead of triple 7's but they only offer electric/hydraulic on those axles (although Dexter does make them in an electric configuration).

A couple guys put a Jordan on their hydraulic/disk upgrade at MORryde last year. They were happy with it - - used mine to test the setup. They discarded their Prodigy which was locking up the trailer brakes. I am not saying it is recommended - - just reporting what they did. You would need to discuss it with Jordan - - call him.
