backup camera for camper
I want to install a backup camera on my slide in camper to make trailer hookups easier. The trailer does hang over the back of the truck.
Anyone have advice about this project? I wish I could incorporate my UCONNECT 8.0 system, but I doubt that will be possible. I've seen the small wireless cameras with small flat monitors, anybody used one?
thanks
Truck is in my sig

I have a 4-channel mobile DVR system with 4 cameras, 2 facing forward, 1 facing rearwards and 1 out the blind side of my truck; you can place a camera wherever you need one.
I can adjust my rear camera to see my hitch and still see the cars behind me.
You can have a combination rearview mirror/monitor or a flat screen monitor, I have both.
You could also mount a camera at the rear of your trailer for added safety.
You can get either wired or wireless systems.
There are commercial grade units unlike the ones you get from auto parts stores.
I bought all of the components for my video system from here.

This is the DVR that I built my system around.

Hi Jim! Any chance that you have some pictures of your camera(s) set up from the outside of your truck as well as the inside placement of your monitors and DVR? I just have a single rear view camera set up right now and I am looking for some ideas to add on to the existing system. My dash is already getting to be a busy place with GPS and camera monitors and screens and I don't want to clutter things up too badly.
Cheers!

Here is a simple camera for hitching up the trailer behind my camper. (the truck's rear view camera isn't available, since the tailgate is off.)
Inexpensive ($135 shipped) and works great. Camera is held in place by a strong magnet and runs off a battery, so no wiring needed.
Monitor plugs into the 12v adaptor.
Great view, does what i need.
Works better for hitching up than the 4 camera setup I got for the camper/horse trailer.
