New motor is at the engine builders

Well the title says it. I went & picked up my new long block today. Its a 99 SO long block with 88k miles. & also dropped it off at the diesel engine builders on the way home. Its getting compleatly torn down, hot tanked, magna fluxed, Ballanced & blueprinted, Its also getting a hamilton "Big Stick" cam, new push rods, & valve springs, The Pistons & barings are getting coted, & also getting O-Ringed & studded, Along with some head work Once its done Its going to get a nice paint job on the block & some powdercoating on the valve cover, Intake horn, & intake tube. Im also thinking about throwing some mach 4's in it instead of the 120's I have in the currant motor See the cracked 53 block is just a good excuse to build a NICE motor

Sounds like you have a nice plan for the engine! Just curious as to what valve springs you are going with? IMO get some heavier springs now instead of later, or maybe you are while the engine is being built,LOL.

Mopar Man, I would wait on the stixs until you do your twins. Then I would install a good set of 200hp stixs. Wish I had the money to do what your doing.

I thought why spend the extra cash on the 150's, when you get your twins just get some 200's or 220hp stixs. Save yourself a little cash for something else. Maybe put it towards a external gate on your twins, who knows what. But you know there will always be something else. I think you have the bug bad.

my experience with the cam and head deck is that I lost a touch of compression and my fuel economy went to crap. Picked up a lot of power though.
Id do your research and see if theres a way to retain some of that low end power and compression as well, and still give the valves some more room.
fly-cut pistons?
