EGT's way to HOT
Any one have an opinion on my egt's this hot, a 2002 dodge 2500 with a edge/attitude, 4" down pipe/5" back and a bhaf intake. My egt's are at like 900 to 1000 cruising around and 1200 to 1500+ floored, but my edge shuts it down. Other than those mods its a bone stock "SO" with 230k, its an Hy turbo i know there junk but they still shouldnt get that high shock!!! Any answers would be greatly appreciated THANKS!!!! Nathan

From what I understand high egt's are usually due to too much fuel with incomplete combustion (not enough air). Is your boost where it should be? Is your airfilter clean? Then again, I run a '99 and haven't had any experience with later models.

The air filter is brand new, with or with out it does it. With the programer on or off they still get that hot!! Do you think it could be a bad injector, leaking or possibly throwing of timing trying to burn that fuel??

sounds like you could have a fuel starvation problem. when did you change fuel filters? Also you need to check fuel pressure on the incoming side to injector pump. Also you did not state your turbo. Just my guess without seeing your truck.

Fill in your sig so we know what truck your talking about.
Is it a stick or auto? Sounds like too much fuel and not enough air.
Do you have the HY35 or HX35?
If you have the HY there's your problem.

Without knowing more details about the mods you've made people would only be guessing.
What injectors have you installed, if any?
What turbo do you have, and what size is the housing? Is it wastegated?
Which Edge fueling box do you have?
Has your computer thrown any codes?
Mike

A stock truck with a free flowing exhaust and intake should never see temps anywhere near 1500 degrees.
I think you're probably on the right track when you ask about the possibility of a bad injector. That's where I'd start first. What's the inside of the tailpipe like? Is it dry soot, or is it oily at all?
