Diamond Eye 4" Exhaust
Has anyone put one of these in their truck??
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT
I am eying one up, was wondering how well it is made and how loud it is?
Not looking for anything much louder then stock. Looked at the ones from the dtr store but like everyone else money is tight...
Thanks,
MIKE..

4" diamond eye exhaust
I have an alumanized exhaust on my dodge and it has lasted about 4+ years, and i have been reading guys are painting them with a ceramic high heat engine enamel that should make them last a little longer- sometimes you can't always afford the stainless steel exhausts-hope this helps your decision
good luck

Soo I'm better off with the 409 stainless steal, the 304 ss is almost twice the price.
We do see a fair amount of road salt here and i don't want to replace my system every couple of years.
Any suggestions on brand or who's got good prices?

stainles vs stainles
some of the cheaper stainles pipes will rust as well/ it will last longer than alumanized, how much longer compared to how much more $$$ ???
do some research here, it has been posted quite a lot
if it was my money being spent, i would go alumanized and paint it as stated earlier, mine went 4+ years unpainted- i really dion't expect them to last much longer than that- good luck

I've had MBRP aluminized exhaust on my truck for 3 years now. They use de-icer instead of salt in Washington, I believe it is just as corrosive or worse than salt.
My system with the exception of the hangers still looks very good, no rust. I purchased ss band clamps prior to the install and they look similar to the aluminized tubing.
No doubt ss is the better material, but I have seen Diamond Eye systems at Bryans(Diesel Power Products) and they look like a nice product, I have no idea about their fitment. I believe the Diamond Eye systems I saw were ss.

304SS or none at all. 316 or (even better) 321SS is out there, but cost can get pretty crazy.
JMO-- I'm running stock exhaust still.

Thank's for the input, very helpful!!
I think I'm gonna keep my eye open for a 304ss system on sale, mine should hold out for a few more month's (hopefully)..
I try to do the job right the first time, saves money from doing it again down the road!!!!
Thank's Again,
Mike..
