Cat Back and Turbo Back?

what do these terms mean when it comes to exhaust? i don't understand but i think i might know but i'm gonna wait for ya'll to reply before i report what i think for it might be embarassing.

cat back: means that the exhaust installs from the catalytic convertor back.

turbo back: means that the exhaust installs from the downpipe(or turbo if you get a new downpipe) back.

A cat back exhaust system runs from the catolitic converter to the rear of the truck. A turbo back system runs from the turbo all the way to the rear of the truck.

ok that is what i thought i just didn't wanna sound dumb or anything. so now what is better? i assume the turbo back since my truck does not have a converter, right?

your truck has no convertor.... just straight pipe that ***** and be done with it.

it is straight piped but i wanna go from 3.5" to 4" and i didnt know what that the cat back and turbo back meant. but now i am wondering, what i would be looking for when shopping for exhaust, i would want a turbo back right?

yeah turbo back is what you want. get a 4inch downpipe along with that and you should be good to 500-550 horsepower,after that 5 inch is nescessary.
