98 3500 to a semi cab
Well, I've held off awhile, part because of life in the way, part because of the backlash.
I put a freightliner cab on my 98 dually chassis.
Reasoning:
1. my kids outgrew the extra cab.
2. My truck needed paint, interior etc after 250k.
3. Seemed like a waist to invest money in a truck to small.
4. My truck rarely goes anywhere not hooked to a slew of different trailers.
Build reasoning:
1. Cab is aluminum and fiberglass which is a lot lighter than the dodge cab.
2. Front end is much lighter too
3. Air ride cab and seats. No rough ride . and more leg room on trips, I'm 6'5.
4. Same width as the dually just the whole truck is the width of the fenders.
5. Holds 9 people with jump seats out.
6. Sleeps two easy with bunk, or 3/4 if need be.
7. Better mpg I hope, less weight , and better overall aero with trailer.
The cab is moved forward as far as possible, I had it lower, but I then raised it to fit 120 gallon side tanks under the cab that are not in the pictures. The front end is short and in "progress" ..lol....but use some imagination.
4 camera mirror/ back up system,
The bed isn't mounted yet, I just set it down...I have my b&w turnover under neath, and the bed fifth wheel is coming off and the bed lowered. Ther e are stake sides for the bed.
Its the same length as a f350 crew cab . I watched my length numbers to the inch.

Ok before the pics I was like "whaaaaat" but with the pics, well I'm likin the flavor of the Koolaid yer stirring up! Agree the nose is gonna be a challenge. If I'm following you are going for the Freightliner cab but working to keep the Dodge nose/grill etc?
