-5°. It's beginning to feel a lot like winter. The company gave out turkeys and hams to everyone. Sense it's only the 3 of us, I snagged a ham. Being on a strict diet, Thanksgiving won't look right. No starches or sweets, just meat and greens. Kick back and relax day. After the parade, there is a dog show on the tube. Nap with the cat after her walk. Be good everyone.

I'm using a weed whacker with braided and frayed steel line.
At 1/2 throttle I can get some of the coolest designs...kinda like Spirograph.

But the smell, it smells like the only crap house on a 4000 person military base that serves only MRES.

Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving and if you go shopping tomorrow be careful

Put fresh coffee and ph00 on along with a few home recipe muffins that did not get scarfed up - - they are delicious, but soooooo much food. Huge pumpkin and mince meat pies - - wow, too good.

StuffedBob, thanks for the coffee and goodies. A bit stale, but still OK.

I agree with you about where did the time go. Just yesterday I was looking at a calendar and realized that in exactly one month that it would be Christmas day - again. Then the end of anther year. Seems like just a year or two ago that we were worried about Y2K and now here it is almost 17 years later. Yeah, just where did the time go??????????????

Got lots to do today, so better get going. 40 guests arriving in one week for the annual family gathering.

It is amazing, Stan. Sixteen years ago in two more days I was laying on the operating table having triple bypass after having a major heart attack complete with flat lining. Seems like yesterday and also 50 years ago, all at the same time. Weird.

40 guests - - all at once - - I will quit complaining about 22.

Bob, a few lifetimes ago ................ I know what you mean.

The 40 guests sound scary, but not so bad. For a large group like that, they all stay in local hotels, so we do not need to feed them breakfast. The main meal of the gathering is catered (prepared hot at the end of my patio/verandah) and we also hire a couple of professional waiters for the occasion. Extra glasses, tables and chairs are also hired and set out on the lawn. All very different to what you guys do north of the border. It's much more civilized down here. It sounds expensive, but with everything included, the costs work out to less than $15 per person and everybody goes away stuffed and happy.
