valve adjustment help

Even though theres not much chatter here anymore, Im going to ask here anyway cause I need local responses.

I need to get my valves adjusted and dont trust myself to do it. Does anyone know of a local shop that they would trust to do this on a Cummins? I have heard alot about a shop in Rising Sun, Md. (Wilsons or something like that) being a good place to go.

Any help is appreciated.

Don't know of any local shops to recommend.
I've done it and it's pretty easy. Look it up on here.

The procedure is very easy. Just do a search anywhere on the web for Cummins valve adjustment and you'll find enough to read all day long. Your '07......how many miles are on it? The common rails aren't due for valve adjustment until 150k miles. I just did mine a few weeks ago and set the intake/exhaust at .008"/.018" respectively and it really made the valvetrain a lot more quiet. The old specs were .010"/.020" but I think for '07 and newer the change was made to .010"/.026". Don't quote me on that but I think I've read that somewhere.

stay with the 0.010 and 0.020 on your truck. it took us for ever to find out why they changed it to 0.026. if you call cummins with the engine sn they will tell you 0.020. finally we talked to a Chrysler engineer. Chrysler decided to keep the exhaust valve closed a little longer to give a little margin of safety meeting epa regs.
