New guy here.

Wanted to say hello to everyone. I, for some reason, am really interested in looking to purchase (as my next vehicle) and would like to go the diesel truck route.

I'm more of a gun guy than a car or truck guy, but for some reason a powerful diesel pick up truck just seems to have grabbed my attention. I'm basically doing just a bunch of research to see which route would be the best way to go for my needs between Ford and RAM. I know that is basically the same as which is better 9mm or .45ACP.

Thanks for allowing me to join.

Lee

Lee, welcome aboard.

Just for grins, what rough year are you looking for and what is your intended use?

Honestly, I just want something that looks nice, has the power when i need it (if i do), and has the bed space to carry furniture if/when that times arises. I'm not looking in particular right now, just doing some research on to see which trucks are best (i want diesel just 'cuz). This truck purchase is going to be a future, down the road, purchase.

I just really want something that looks nice, has the power, and doesn't nickel and dime me to death to be honest. I may be asking for a unicorn honestly.

As for year, I'm at a point that the newer the better, but i will look at something that is close to new but has little to no issues. Hope this helps.

Unless you tow or haul heavy, don't rule out the 1/2 ton Dodge Ecodiesel, fantastic fuel mileage and plenty of power. It actually fits most peoples needs better than our 3/4 ton and 1 tons do.

I'm not into the newer big Dodge stuff, so I think you need to hang out on the 4th Gen forum and pick their brains if you want a full size 3/4 ton and up. I know most everyone who has them raves about them.

I don't mind poking around on mine and am more concerned that I can get home with baling wire and duct tape, so I avoid electronics.......
