where do I plug in to use cummins service tool
I have access to a cummins service tool (laptop computer). It has the cummins insite program on it. But it will not plug into the dodge test port under the dash. Can anyone tell me where to plug it in to get diagnostic and test info from the cummins engine. Sorry I forgot to say it is a 1999 ram 2500 with 24v engine. Thanks

By chance have you borrowed a laptop that has a data cable for a differnt model of rig? Make sure the data cable is for a 99 dodge. The number of pins are different for gens.

The laptop that I am using is not a code reader, it is a cummins service tool. I work at a newholland dealership and we have this tool to run diagnostics on our tractors with cummins engines. With this tool you can change several engine parameters, you can also test fuel pressure, compression, fuel temp, and many other things. The test port should be under the hood in the engine harness, I just thought maybe someone here could tell me where, so that I don't have to spend a bunch of time searching.
Thanks

I found the test plug. It is on the lefthand side of the engine down by the power steering pump. It is a triangle three prong plug. That is the good news, the bad news is I now get to replace the VP because it shows internal failure I am going to replace the lift pump as well due to the fact that everyone here seems to have problems with them.
Thanks for the help
