Stuck on I-70 in MD.

Hey my lift pump died an im on i70 near clearspring md long shot but is there anyone in the area with a first gen lift pump?

In a pinch a cheap inline electric fuel pump that should be in stock at most any local Napa could get you home. Get something that doesn't give you too much fuel pressure.

I drove home on a couple of Jerry cans in the truck bed, 20 feet of diesel fuel line and a cheap electric pump with my 2nd gen a few years ago to save myself a $1800! quote to tow me home. My sending units metal lines had rusted out and the 35 gallon tank was full. I had a loaded trailer behind me and was just outside of Boston area. I got about 30 miles to the 5 gallon Jerry can but made it home to fix it right.

Fuel pump or put the diesel can above the IP, let gravity do the rest
