Just a random thought on colours

It occurred to me today while watching equipment videos that no truck manufacturer offers a line of equipment specific colours for their truck line. I think it would be a great idea. Even from a marketing perspective. Guys that are in the market for these vehicles will often associate with a particular brand due to their upbringing around it. So being able to get that colour in the factory quality and finish could be a real selling point. Whether subconsciously or even consciously. I personally would like Liebherr white with the charcoal wheels or Komatsu's yellow and grey scheme. I'm sure many guys would like Caterpillar yellow/black, or John Deere green/yellow. What else?

Mack had JD and IH covered back in the days of lead paint.
More lead meant better paint, and either red or green paint.
That's why so many equipment manufacturers used red or green paint.

I'm sure the legal issues of using another vendors color and brand name is conflicting to profits for this.

Usually a manufacturer will paint enough of them if the order is big enough. Ever notice the Forest Service green machines of all makes running around the hills?

Personally I think a John Deere green pick up is a gagger as would be the blue used for some farm tractors....CAT yellow, though? maybe...

I know Ford keeps the gold color for the WA Fish and Game vehicles in stock. Apparently it is the hardest "colour" to pick up by the naked eye in the wilds of the Pacific NW.
