Diagnostic tools.

Merry Christmas everyone.

I am wonderful what the best diagnostic tool would be for a 4th Gen truck?
Looking at the Autoigunity tool. Not sure if it is the better. Also looking at Matco tools. Budget no more then $1500.

I personally like the ones from Princess Auto on sale for $39. Most of the time you just need something to read and then reset the codes and this one does that just fine, I keep it in the center console of the truck.

Autoenginuity is an awesome program for anything that ive used it for. Well worth the money, and time to set up. It isnt a dollar store point and shoot scanner. But it lets you see almost everything, which makes troubleshooting way easier

I bought one of those Autels from Princess Auto, it worked fine for checking basic codes. But it would not perform the advanced functions it was listed as being able to do.

I was going to spend the money on a Snapon tool. But after looking at it and the subscription cost I think the Autoengunity would be as good for tinkering around with my truck and avoiding the dealership.

Cheers thanks for the feed back.

The Snap On scanners are nice. It's sure frustrating though, to use a high-end scanner like that and still have no access to certain parameters because Dodge (or any other manufacturer) hasn't made them available to the aftermarket.
