Got new solenoids ordered from Detroit. Dang things are $200 apiece!!! Going to send the other two back if we can figure out which one's not working.

A wiring schematic at this point would be your best friend. Would save you a lot of time and money.

Jakes work great when it's cold. About the time it gets to 160-165 degrees one pair quits working. Would be nice to find a loose wire under the valve cover though.

Don't know when we'll get the trucks in. Some bad hoses on the Steiger, all have green paint on them (originals) so it's getting all new hoses. Somewhere in the area of 30 of them little fishturds.

All 3 solenoids went in. Guess someone forgot about needing to warm up and run the truck to check them before taking the radiator to the radiator shop. No loose wires, and he says he wasn't going to go diving into it again. Doesn't like Detroits, but the boss and I don't like the ones he worked on at Cat.

I was right, no diagnosis while the valve cover was off, still drops 2 cylinders once up to temp. Is there any other seals or o-rings or anything that can leak once it gets warmed up?

He says he started it for a second and had oil spraying out everywhere, the engine fan was blowing it around.

I quit because of this truck, it could be too expensive to fix. $2200 worst case scenario out the door at Freightliner, they couldn't be bothered to make a phone call. His kid took it to college, replaced the entire engine brake, still didn't work right. Don't know what the problem was but it got fixed.

Along with the leaking steer wheel seal and the brakes that turned it hard to the right when applied under load.

It could be too expensive to fix, but he ended up getting it fixed anyhow after I left, the other hired man refused to drive it after I quit because of it.

Sounds more like a oil pressure problem you said jakes work when its cold ,oil is thick but when its warm they cut out

Not my headache any more. Someone here in town fixed it this spring. Pulled in to see if I could get the truck I now drive worked on, and it was all torn apart. I told him what it was doing. No one else could tell him. Because no one &&&*(*(#@(#(@( listened to anyone else at that place.
