I personally own and used the snap on 3/8 and 1/2 when I worked for waterous on a service truck. We have a full selection on Milwaukee at the mine now though. I would not say they are as strong as the snappys but we abuse the Milwaukees to the extreme at work. They hold up pretty well. Some fail in the first week of use. Others last a long time.

I should be ok then, going with the Milwaukee. As for torque, does the Milwaukee actually seem to have more "jam" than the snapon? My intended use is weekend warrior kinda stuff. I do not make my living with tools like this! Thanks.

No. My personal opinion is the snap on has more *****. I also think it's constructed much better than the Milwaukees.
But the Millie's work fine too.
