DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS [DRLs]

Last week I took delivery of a new 2016, and before I drove it away, I asked the dealer to activate the daytime running lights (DRLs).
The truck went back to the service area and a short while later the tech came back and said that when they connected it up (to the computer?) to try to access that feature, they couldn’t locate where to turn the DRLs on. Basically, they concluded that the vehicle was not built with that capability, which I find difficult to believe.
Five years ago when I purchased my 2011, I asked the dealer to activate them and he did by connecting his computer(?) and it was done in 15 minutes.
Logically, I would have expected that my vehicle could have just as easily been ordered by a Canadian dealer, in which case it most certainly would have had DRL capability.
I recently read somewhere that the DRL feature is available with the installation of a module.
Does anybody have any information on what is required and the cost to have a functioning DRL on a 2016 2500?

Trucks built for the US market used to have the DRL module left out and when importing to Canada by law the DRL had to be operational, there are a few stores here that sell an aftermarket universal DRL system for about $120 not installed. Canadian tire has a set of led DRL for $184. Sorry no idea how much or what it would take to make the factory system work on a US truck.

It's not a module. There is a sales code that has to be added to your truck via the tool they use to check diagnostics, etc. I moved up to Canada from the U.S. and had the dealership enable them on my 2013. It's very easy. Ensure the sales code is appropriate for the type of headlights you have. I have the projectors and the dealership enabled the DRLs so the low beams were on. Not correct. They finally had a guy who knew what he was doing show me and enabled the parking lamps as DRLs. DRLs will work whether in AUTO or any other light mode.
