Gooseneck Salvage Parts for 3500

Folks, where would I find salvaged parts from totaled 3500s?? I need to install a gooseneck receiver in my 2016 3500, but $1k for OEM is in sane.

There has to be wrecked units out there... I've search every pick'n'pull I could find on the web. These trucks must never die!!

Thanks in advance!!

These are new enough that they are either being rebuilt vs totaled or are going to the fenced JY's that sell to garages, body shops, etc. I'd be pretty surprised to find one in a U Pull It yard. There is a yard like that in New Ringgold PA called Joe's Used Auto Parts. They might have something. I've never done business with them so I dunno how they are to deal with. Good Luck with it.

I am surprised that if you just spent 50-60k on a new truck you wouldn't spring another 1k for a gooseneck hitch!

It generally takes 5-6 years before you see any type of vehicle in a salvage yard. Folks that own a vehicle that new will get their vehicle fixed at the dealership under warranty, not at the salvage yard.

B&W has a great goose turnover ball hitch for the 2013's and up. It bolts directly to the fingers designed for the factory hitch. I think the B&W is better than the factory set up mostly because of how and where the safety chains hook up to. I guess the factory set up is good if you never get into dirt and it never gets below freezing, I'm not sure how you would clean out the factory attachment points if it was filled up with frozen dirt, ice or snow other than going to a car wash or putting the truck in a warm shop.

IIRC a few months ago I paid 400ish for my B&W gooseneck and a couple hours of my time and it was in.
