Do 4th Gens require upgraded Fuel Filtration?

Hey guys,
Sorry, I have been searching for 15 minutes, but i cant find the info.
I probably don't know the right key words.

Do the new 4th gen cummins trucks need upgraded fuel filtration?
Or do the new trucks have better filters than the 3rd gens?

Is there anything else I should be doing to a brand new 2016 to protect it?

Thanks!

On the 2013 and up there are 2 fuel filters, one on the frame near the fuel tank and the one under the hood. The one under the hood is a finer filter and more expensive then the older 6.7 filter like on my 2011. I started using the finer filter on my 2011 a couple of years ago.

Thanks,
Does that new filter meet the 2 micron specs that I keep hearing about?

Yes I'm sure the new filter is 2 micron. The old 10 micron is FS43255 $60 CD while the new 2 micron is FS53000 $74cd from Cummins.

Find the grease point on the front drive shaft while it's still clean, use the exhaust brake as much as possible to prevent it sticking, don't "fill" the DEF as it goes off with time and temp use only part fills. Install a cabin air filter right off the bat.

Thansk Busboy!
Do you mean short fill the DEF? Like if it takes 1 gallon, only put a .5 gallon in it when its empty?

Is the cabin air filter an existing OE filter? Just put a new replacement one in it? Or some kind of aftermarket filter? We are talking about an HVAC filter?

yes to the DEF, it's better to keep refilling then what's in the tank is always reasonably fresh. The cabin air filter was not stock and there is a link to adding one. However I just recently read that the 2016 has the door but no filter installed. Here is the link to adding the filter complete with part numbers.https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...er-mod-284729/ Adding the filter and changing it when dirty will keep the evaporator core clean and most of the dust out of the cab.

here's a economical way to add 2 micron filtration to any truck. the filter in the pic is not 2 micron but was changed when the 10 micron needed replacement, currently i have a R90S (2 micron) installed

New ones better filter to 2 micron and give the fuel a nice massage for over $100 for a pair of filters!
I got dual filters on my 07 and think I'm still under $20 for the pair.....
